You will collaborate with professionals in the design and construction industry, an exciting field that is experiencing regrowth, as you join our team of production underwriters.Responsibilities include the determination of terms and conditions for coverage and rates for program profitability and reporting on the underwriting results to senior management. You will build relationships with the broker distribution force and negotiate quotations and ensure policies are issued as bound.At Victor O. In addition to managing a robust book of business, the ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to grow and own their assigned territory through aggressive prospect pipeline management and achievement of new business premium goals. This position requires up to 20% domestic travel and requires the ability to operate at a high performing level while maintaining attention to detail.Success in this role is defined by strong account retention, profitable underwriting results and new business. Keys to success include high energy, proficient negotiation skills with both the brokers and our carrier partners and effective presentations skills. This position offers tremendous opportunities for the right candidate to be a top performer in a growing, well-established organization.Responsibilities\:Reviews and analyzes submissions for Professional Liability coverages such as Architects & Engineers, Land Surveyors and Landscape Architects .Identifies and obtains additional information required for proper analysis of risk including cross referencing with other departmentsCorresponds with other insurance professionals to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain company underwriting policiesAssesses exposure and determines rates, terms and conditions of coverage in accordance with guidelines and uses judgment underwriting to evaluate a riskNegotiates terms and conditions with brokersDetermines whether to accept, modify, or decline risksDevelops or modifies policy wording when standard text is not appropriate Binds coverage and initiates issuance of documentsServices current accountsProvides advice and expertise to other underwriters on underwriting issuesAssists in special projects in conjunction with marketing and business plans 5-10 years of insurance related experienceE&O Insurance Experience a plusExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong MS Office experience, ability to create PP presentationsTravel up to 20%Multi-task & work in a fast paced environmentAbility to build strong client relationshipsAbility to apply mathematical concepts to practical situationsStrong analytical and judgment skills; excellent problem solving abilityCollege degree, preferably in insurance or business administrationVictor O.
