JOB SUMMARY:

About the Agency

This position is in the Department of Exhibits which include the Project Management Office (PMO), Exhibit Design Office and Exhibit Production Office, within the Directorate of Business Operations and Exhibits, National Air and Space Museum (NASM), Smithsonian Institution (SI). The incumbent serves as the Deputy to the Assistant Director for Exhibits.

  • Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as developing preliminary project and program budgets, cost estimates, budgets, assessing project performance and performing cost management. Must also have experience with human resources management, overseeing multiple funds, preparing scopes of work, requests for proposals and contract negotiation in a museum or cultural setting.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
