Position Overview and ResponsibilitiesCompany has an immediate opening for an individual to be a Senior Vice President of Research, Public Affairs and Crisis Management on the Global Research and Analytics team. This person may be located in the COMPANY DC or New York offices. Company, globally headquartered in St. Louis, is one of the largest integrated communications companies in the world. To that end, we strongly encourage applications from women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.The Senior Vice President will partner with governments, associations, global and local organizations, and internal East Coast and EMEA teams to inform strategy, enhance execution via analytics, and demonstrate opportunities and success via measurement for our clients. The senior strategist may run research projects and initiatives with VOX Global, GMMB, DDC, Blue Current and will liaise with the agency's client teams to create solutions, achieving client goals and client satisfaction. He/she will provide experienced, data-driven counsel with an emphasis on rapid research and analysis to aid organization making critical business and communications decisions; converting research into strategic advice for communications programs and campaigns. In addition, they will build a team and collaborate closely with the Global Intelligence Practice. The successful candidate will have experience doing research for and providing insights to organizations facing crisis situations or major social and political issues. Political campaign experience, especially on major issues, would be welcomed.The communications industry has a significant opportunity to manage exposure, support differentiation and create change for organizations operating in complex, global markets today. impactResponsibilitiesBusiness Development and Client ManagementCollaborate with COMPANY colleagues to bring quality research to our client engagements and deliver outstanding insights that that provide high-quality results for the clientMonitor and forecast business performance and the costs and resources in partnership with the Finance teamResponsible for revenue growth and profitability of client accounts to meet firm revenue goalsAccountable for the quality of P&L management and the alignment between local and global strategyDirect the pricing of projects to provide value to the client while meeting the firm's revenue goalsActively coordinate new business strategy and identify, prioritize and amplify opportunitiesParticipate in internal and external new business pitches and proposals in partnership with COMPANY New Business teams including the production of audience diagnosis and market research to deliver insights and testing methodologies to inform and validate strategic and creative optionsEngage directly with clients and provide strategic counsel throughout all stages of the process and deliver exceptional research that meets the clients' business needs across the research and analytics offerings and solve specific client business problemsEstablish trust, respect and credibility as a leader and business partnerTake a consultative approach to designing, selling and executing using appropriate methodologies and tools to meet clients' needsThe ideal candidate should be an experienced brand builder and corporate communicator, preferably having worked in both an agency and on the client sidProject ManagementLead quantitative and qualitative research projectsLead the development of research design, questionnaire design, sampling plans, moderator guides, analytical plans, programming, data collection and processing and reportingLead the analysis and interpretation of data to create a compelling story that meets client objectivesAsk the right questions, understand the business objectives, and ultimately help to scope the right research that will have the most impactEnsure that insights, research and data analytics are an integral part of our client counsel and programming which includes integrating our offerings and developing a strong cohesive teamProduct DevelopmentBring new ideas into practice and help develop them for professional experience in market research, marketing, insights, analytics, strategy development, or consultationMust have crisis polling, corporate reputation and public affairs research experienceAdditional experience with various types of research engagements including: highly curated media monitoring, thought leadership, measurement and optimization and brand positionPossess an understanding of marketing and communications strategy including the role of PR in the marketing mixBe a strategic thinker that understands marketing strategy and how to use research methods and analysis to deliver actionable findings for clientsTrack record of building successful relationships across organizations to promote the impact and value of research, analytics and insightsStrong leader with experience managing large internal cross-practice, cross-functional teams (including research, planning, creative, programming and analytics), as well as experience working across and leading integrated agency planning teamsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels using both technical and non-technical verbiageAbility to turn data and analysis into insights and metrics that can be actionable in the context of marketing strategies and campaignsStrong knowledge of marketing, traditional, social and digital media and content development, social and web site analysis and consumer targeting tools and vendorsQuantitative research experience, potentially including media analysis, automated dashboard development and reporting, knowledge of social media publishing and listening tools and digital analyticsQualitative research experience, potentially including landscape analysis and fact finding researchKnowledge of methodologies and analytic techniques including segmentation, concept testing, conjoint analysis, perceptual mapping, tracking, ad testing, product naming, customer satisfaction, focus groups, IDIs,
