Director of Public Relations Job Description The Director of Public Relations has a tremendous responsibility and opportunity to work at one of the Forbes Most Innovative Software companies in the world. CoStar and its 5 flagship brands have taken the commercial real estate market and now the multifamily market by storm. will no doubt go down on the record for the best marketing campaign, product launch and high growth results. The role requires a broad range of skills and experience, including customer obsession, nimble diplomacy and insatiable story development. Clear, concise and differentiated communication skills are required. Translating the wealth of information on the commercial and multifamily real estate market and coupling it with macro-economic trends, this person will uncover stories and content that will drive explosive growth in our awareness and perception. What story, what medium, what timing, comes second nature to this individual. This person must be graceful working with senior executives and have unshakable nerves under pressure. This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Communications. Responsibilities: Maximize media exposure for the company Craft external positioning and interacts with the press and industry influencers by phone, e-mail, and in person, presenting findings, pitching stories or answering questions. Responsible for all media relations to include partnering and driving community involvement and outreach Creates unique and compelling written analysis explaining market environment and likely outcomes for clients. Develop, edit and approve content, including press releases, customer stories, blog posts, partner communications and more Create and manage editorial calendars across all brand outreach Partner with social leads to expand and amplify exposure Work with subject matter experts to identify thought leadership content that accelerates market awareness and perception Manage external agency team resources Partner with all areas of marketing to create an integrated and synced approach. Some travel may be required Qualifications: Bachelor Degree required, Master's degree preferred with concentration in economics, finance and communications Eight years of related experience. Experience must relate to commercial real estate or economic forecasting in public relations, agency and corporate in-house mix preferred Excellent communication, writing, editing, and project management skills Impeccable critical thinking yet no ego. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Positive, flexible attitude, sense of humor and living in the moment are second nature Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the complex business documents and identify trends and ultimately stories and content to take to market.
