The primary purpose of this job is to be accountable for one or more medium risk projects and a larger, higher risk project and is expected to provide input to and oversight for lesser experienced team members to assist with project delivery. The Sr IT Project Manager will proactively identify and act on opportunities to improve team culture and delivery success. Build and maintain working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.   The Sr IT Project Manager will also be versed in Agile Scrum and be capable of acting as a Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach for one or more teams.

    Provide project management leadership to project/program teams by defining and managing issues and risks, defining scope, and identify tasks necessary to complete assigned work. Direct, as appropriate, team resources responsible for executing specific tasks. Perform the duties of a Scrum Master to include as a minimum leading all scrum activities for the team and helping the team to improve on their Agile Scrum practices. Document requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables. Create and execute project communications and delivery via status reports and other deliverables necessary to inform and align stakeholders verbally and in writing. Monitor project schedule, performance, quality, and budget using appropriate tools and techniques, then implement corrective actions as needed. Lead estimatation and planning activities in advance of project start for projects appropriate to level of experience and responsibility. Identify and implement actions to improve overall team performance and build a positive, team-oriented culture. Possess and convey high level of knowledge of PM professional practice codes, methodologies, and knowledge sources to help grow PM capabilities throughout the organization. Mentor more junior PMs to increase their knowledge and skills in the PM arena. Mentor teams on improving their Agile Scrum practices. Monitor alignment of project work to programs, portfolios, and overall enterprise strategy. Work with stakeholders to establish deadlines, tracks responsibilities, prepare reports, and monitor and summarize progress of project.

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Bachelor’s Degree in economics, finance, statistics or related field required. Minimum of eight (8) years’ of experience in Project Management is required. PMO Certification is highly desired. Work in an agile environment is highly desired.
 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. 

 

Travel

Local travel to various worksites is required.
