As an Archives Technician at the Archival Operations office in Washington D. C. or College Park you will perform non-professional, quasi-professional, and technical work that supports access to the archival holdings and physical and intellectual control over records.

  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Relocation expenses will not be paid
  • GS-06 - Candidates must have had one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level of Federal service that has included activities such as performing reference service, arrangement, description, accessioning, preservation/holding maintenance/reformatting of archival records, and utilizing computer technology applications.

    Education may be substituted for experience. GS-06: One-half year of graduate level education from an accredited educational institution in a related field such as History, Archives and Records Management, or Library and Information Science.

    Combination of Experience and Education: a combination of experience and graduate level education to meet the total requirements for this position (note: when added together, the total of education and experience must equal 100%).
