About the Position:
Serves as a Health Technician (Dietetic) in the Nutrition Services Department located at Ft Belvoir Community with responsibility for performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of the higher level Health Technician (Dietetic). Specifically plans and adjusts patient menus on a daily basis in accordance with physician diet orders and ensures that all menus and paperwork are completed in order for patients to receive their selections.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and.or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. General and/or Specialized Experience: Six months of general experience (1) in any type of work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, or (2) experience that provided a familiarity with controlling patient meal orders, updating room service menus AND six months of specialized experience which includes: providing food, nutrition and/or dietetics services; answering calls, providing effective customer service; and operating computerized systems in a medical treatment facility.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-03).
Education: Two years of education above the high school level that included at least 12 semester hours in subjects related to the position, such as, Dietetics or Nutrition. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education by 60. Add the two percentages.
