Easter Seals Serving DC|MD|VA (www.eseal.org) is an affiliate serving Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. We work through public-private partnerships to provide services in the most efficient manner possible. Easter Seals provides Adult Medical Day, Child Development, Respite, and Workforce Development services where participants and their families find support, hope, medical care, and enjoyable activities. Position Summary This new position will play a key role in our organization. Working within the Division of Innovation & Program Development, grants fuel our ability to grow, innovate and help meet the evolving needs of the people in our community who seek our assistance. The Easter Seals grants department is a highly effective group, winning more than 60% of our proposals each year. You will be a member of a team developing foundation, corporate, and government grants and contracts. You will be responsible for research, data collection, grant writing, and much more. Primary responsibilities: * Writes reports for funders under guidance from Senior Director, Grants & Foundation Relations and Grants Manager * Supports grant preparation and assembly * Conducts primary "suspects" research. Completes thorough report on every potential grant funder, including lists of previous grantees, project summaries, successful applications, relevant web resources, etc. * Works with program staff to assemble data collection for reports * Maintains internal metrics dashboards of program data * Creates and maintains grants & reporting calendars * Updates information in Raiser's Edge * Other duties as assigned Position Qualifications* BA/BS in a liberal arts field or equivalent military experience* Demonstrated excellence in writing and researching* Works independently, seeking new assignments, and finding new and innovative ways of accomplishing tasks* Communicates well, encouraging collaboration and cooperation* Problem solver and analytical thinker, exhibiting proper judgement and decision making skills* Smart, eager, willing, intellectual curiosity, self-motivated, team player* Exceptional organizational skills - accurate, neat and thorough* Able to quickly assemble, analyze and coalesce content information in a wide range of services* Passion for Easter Seals mission* 1-2 years background in development or non-profit organizations preferred* Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Raiser's Edge (preferred)We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
