Knowesis is seeking a Senior Public Health Analyst to support our client on site in Falls Church, VA (Defense Health Agency (DHA) Health Readiness Policy and Oversight (HRP&O)Operational Support Services)Position Summary:The Senior Public Health Analyst provides subject matter expertise across the spectrum of public health, including veterinary public health, health assessments, epidemiology, health surveillance and biosurveillance and assist the government client by supporting annual periodic health assessments, pre- and post-deployment health assessments, individual medical readiness, and public health informatics and performance measures development across a spectrum of deployment health-related activities. Serves as an essential partner with clients to address critical emerging issues with public heath automated information systems.Job Responsibilities:* Review, monitor compliance, and assess policy and program execution for periodic and deployment health assessment reports, and deployment health activities that impact the health status of our Service members and DoD civilian employees.* Support the Periodic Health Assessment, Deployment Health Assessment, Individual Medical Readiness, and Medical Readiness Systems IT Integration Program Managers in the development of deployment health, medical readiness, and health assessments, execution guidance for the Service Components and other defense agencies. * Provide expert support for the development of performance for improvement metrics and measures relating to deployment health program activities.* Support the government to monitor and report on compliance with deployment health and individual medical readiness programs.* Support Deployment Health Branch Program Managers with various Working Groups and functional committees to ensure continuity and development of briefing materials to MHS Governance entities.* Support Public Health Information Technology governance structures to ensure timely identification and incorporation of public health functional requirements into Department of Defense medical and readiness systems (eg, Public Health Working Group under Readiness and Force Support Portfolio Rationalization Board).* Analyze existing policies, perform gap analyses, identify deficiencies and adverse trends, and make recommendations for policy and program improvement.* Collect, analyze, and format health-related data for the government's use in answering inquiries or developing or improving new or existing programs and policies.* Draft or edit point briefings, papers, information papers, action memos and various other types of formal and informal correspondence and other work products for use by the government.* Assist the client in developing the functional requirements package to include CONOPs, BUC, identification of authoritative databases, and data elements.* Develop supporting program metrics for program oversight to monitor compliance, and to ensure effectiveness and efficiencies.* Attend internal and external health-related meetings where they shall represent the government's position by contributing their subject matter expertise.* Provide quarterly input of all current projects to be incorporated into FR&HA's program review for FHP&RP's Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense.* Provide updates on an as needed basis to FR&HA's Program Director to keep them current on all project activities and provide a weekly status update to FR&HA Program Director including relevant completed items, potential risks and issues, DoDD and DoDI status updates, and action items.* Review, monitor compliance, and assess policy and program execution for Global Health Surveillance and for biosurveillance deployment health reports, and military public health that would impact the health status of our Service members and DoD civilian employees.* Coordinate with the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, DoD and Federal agencies, and the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure effective working and support relationships.* Support the program manager in the development of public health management including veterinary public health, health assessments, epidemiology policies and programs.* Provide expert support for zoonotic disease prevention, deployment health program management, and global health surveillance and biosurveillance.* Monitor effectiveness of food, water safety, and deployment sanitation programs throughout the DoD.* Facilitate the government with interfaces with the Army Surgeon General's Director of Veterinary Services Activities on veterinary public health policy matters.* Support the government to monitor and report on compliance with biosurveillance, and veterinary public health programs.Education: Master of Public Health, Master of Public Policy, or Master of Science in other relevant field is required.Experience: Position requires 7-9 years of experience in a Public Health Policy Field and MHS/TMA.
