Position Description Company Name: USSI Position: Human resources generalist Reporting Relationship: Vice president of human resources The human resource generalist is responsible for performing human resource-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior human resources management, operations and accounting in supporting all geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, employment law compliance. The essential role of this position is to: 1 Support vice president of human resources in management of employee relations, training and development, and performance management. 2 Provide field support to operations staff in areas of human resources and training which will comprise most of the time of this position. 3 Oversee and manage human resource policy and procedure as well as their compliance. The position includes but is not limited to the following duties and is subject to change to organizational needs: Job Responsibilities Human Resources 1 Implements human resources policies by following establishing standards and procedures; measuring results against standards; making necessary adjustments. 2 Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel. 3 Travels into the field to train and assist supervisory staff in human relations issues. 4 Assists in the administration of the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program. ++ 5 Maintains records, reports and logs to conform to all regulations. ++ 6 Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program and writes and places advertisements. ++ 7 Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing. ++ 8 Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. + 9 Maintains the company organization charts and the employee directory. + 10 Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. ++ 11 Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database. + 12 Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. ++ 13 Completes or ensures I-9 paperwork is accurate and completed timely. Ensures I-9 are entered correctly in Lookout Services and tracks error for quarterly bonus program. 14 Completes all background check requests. ++ 15 Sends all employment changes such as new rates, transfer or new position to payroll. + 16 Assists vice president of human resources in all employee investigation complaints. 17 Keeps all employee files up to date. ++ 18 Assists vice president of human resources in succession planning, training and development processes. Additional duties 1. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. + 2. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. + 3. Acts as backup for RFP and proposal generation process. 4. Participates as needed in special department projects. + 5.
