Hanover Foods Corporation, Hanover, Pa. has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Assistant located in Hanover Pa. This position will perform a variety of clerical functions related to the Human Resources Department including, attendance tracking, verification of hours for payroll, Affirmative Action logging. Duties and responsibilities include: . Maintain complete and up-to-date personnel records for all hourly plant employees including job classification and rates of pay. . Have a thorough knowledge and accurately implement the daily functions of the Time and Attendance system. Provide accounting with all hours and tabulations necessary to process the weekly Hanover Plant payroll. . Maintain weekly payroll hi-punch tabulations, payroll cross charges and all employee deductions. . Type Personnel Department correspondence and maintain a file system. . Answer employee requests either in person at the window or by telephone. . Reviews plant schedules and contacts the necessary employees to staff the daily needs of the plant and not breach the union collective bargaining agreement. . Maintain employee attendance records and keep the Human Resources Manager informed of any violation of the attendance policy. . Review the monthly insurance census, updating the information with newly eligible employees, terminated employees and any other changes in the benefits. Notify the Union timely of all changes which would affect the employees' union benefits. . Maintain accurate and up-to-date leaves of absences. . Maintain accurate and up-to-date seniority lists. . Review the monthly union pension report, make corrections as needed. Submit completed report to the Union office. . Prepare the monthly remittance for the pension fund payments. Remit payment to the Union office. . Maintain employee bulletin board with up-to date information. . Update union job descriptions and keep file of current job descriptions. . Maintain up-to-date affirmative action logs. . Assist with the screening and testing of applicants. . Assist with new employee sign ups and help administer employee orientation. . Assist the Human Resources Manager with the layoff/recall process. . Assist the Human Resources Manager with the administration of worker's compensation claims. . Assist the Human Resources Manager with annual employee training as needed. . Keeps records of employee vacation eligibility for Hanover Plant Union employees. Prepares and distributes the annual vacation requests forms. . Prepare the weekend overtime list and distribute. . Completes all unemployment and credit verifications for employees. . Complete requisitions for flowers; memorial contributions, etc. .
