DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICESASSISTANT CHIEF OF EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS - cecil county, maryland. An employee in this class, with direction from the Director of Emergency Services, supervises the Division of Emergency Communications and all call taking and dispatch functions within Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement disciplines. Starting salary of $57,666.96 (Grade 7P) Position requirements: High School Diploma or GED; Minimum of two (2) years' experience as Captain or comparable experience; EFD, EPD, EMD, EFD-Q, EPD-Q, EMD-Q; 5-7 years additional professional experience in the field of emergency services preferred; Bachelor of Science in related field preferred; Maryland Fire Rescue Institute leadership I, II and II or equivalent; USFA Courses of Management or Equivalent Training; Computer/ data entry skills; valid Driver's License. Duties: Manages the daily operations and activities of the Emergency Communications Division; prepares recordings and reports for various agencies to include State's Attorney's Office, Law Enforcement and the Fire/ EMS services in the County; directly supervises Captains; ensures all personnel in the field operations are fairly evaluated for their performance by a supervisor; updates and modifies standard operating procedures and daily operations procedures; advises on the development and maintenance of quality management and quality assurance programs; work in conjunction with state and local agencies to continuously develop and manage County Emergency Services division; ensures that County operations function within the guidelines of numerous State and local agencies; maintains and coordinates programming for the CAD system to include unit maintenance, GIS mapping, unit recommend, IAED call codes and responses; performs other duties as assigned Application procedure: Please go to to complete an application/ submit a resume.
