Under the direction of the Education Director, this individual is responsible for training, educating, coaching and mentoring clinical nurse managers and directors at Dimensions Healthcare. The position requires a current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or another compact state and a BSN degree, a MSN is preferred.Responsibilities:
Responsible for mentorship, training and retention initiatives for nurse managers at Dimensions Healthcare:
Coordination and implementation of quarterly nurse manager orientation programs.
Ongoing consultation with Nurse Managers throughout the Dimensions facilities regarding issues, problems and concerns on their units.
Developmen of a comprehensive nurse manager continuing education program for the development and growth of nurse managers.
Ongoing Monitoring and making recommendations to nursing leadership regarding staff RN and nurse manager/director turnover and vacancy rates
Ongoing needs assessment via consultation with senior leadership and Nursing Directors/Managers and development of programs to support target population
Consultation with individual Nursing Directors/Managers and development of targeted interventions.
Review and assessment of exit interview data in collaboration with Human Resources personnel in an effort to proactively intervene when issues are identified.
Identification of issues related to retention and develop strategies to retain.
Analysis of manager/director concerns and addressing global issues with leadership
Development of education competency plan and succession planning for all nursing leadership based upon identified needs
Development and execution of quarterly nursing retreat to discuss and “brainstorm” regarding concerning issues.
- Implementation of evidence-based strategies that address leader preparation and organizational leadership structure including advanced education, leadership training, and shared leadership models.
Bachelors degree in Nursing required
Masters degree in Nursing or Masters in Organization Development or Leadership Development or related field preferred.
Current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or another compact state.
5 years of nursing management or leadership development experience.
Working knowledge and experience sufficient to be able to teach from experience: Organization, Productivity, Financial Reports, Budget Preparation & Monitoring.
Ability to develop curriculum and training materials and to implement training program.
