This is a full-time position with the Office of Information Technology at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C.

Current technologies deployed at the Court include: various servers and desktop PCs, Switched, Routed Ethernet Network, and various operating systems. Routers, Firewalls, and VPN technology are used for external connectivity. Multiple security and monitoring products are deployed.

Candidate must have a college degree (computer-related) or five years of IT security-related experience. As a condition of continued employment, the candidate must be able to acquire and retain a Top Secret (TS) clearance. Candidate must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of secure coding techniques, integration of security into SDLC, logical access controls, various operating systems and applications, principles of IT security, virus/malware protection techniques, and IT security technologies. Experience with virtualization and virtualized environments is strongly desired. Candidate must demonstrate experience identifying potential security risks, and must be able to develop action plans and carry them out quickly and effectively. Must be able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization and to work in an environment handling sensitive information, to demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and share information and knowledge, to set achievable goals and timelines, and to plan and evaluate project performance. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated experience in responding to security incidents and executing methodologies to counteract exploits that are attempted against IT assets is required. CISSP and other security certifications desired.
