  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Ability to lead crews of workers performing delivery and courier tasks

  • Ability to operate delivery trucks, forklifts and other material handling equipment

  • Ability to use computers

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state vehicle operator’s license


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


The work is regularly active and is performed in a warehouse and while operating a delivery van. Position requires worker to lift and carry up to 100 pounds; climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolding; bend, kneel, and crouch; hold, grasp, and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer keyboard. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

This is a lead position directing the daily work schedules of delivery and courier staff members within the LCPS Distribution Center Operations Group. An employee in this position will be responsible for directing and performing tasks such as:  pulling orders for delivery, unloading and loading trucks, the removal of surplus furniture and equipment, operating delivery and courier trucks, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment and other delivery tasks as assigned by the coordinator. This employee will be expected to make recommendations regarding storage space allocation and organization. A worker in this position will also be expected to initiate their own daily assignments and use sound independent judgement and training to take appropriate actions and make decisions to deal with standard recurring situations.


 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Ensures that the work of Distribution Center delivery and courier staff members is properly executed according to established standards and instructions

  • Assigns, leads and when needed performs daily delivery and/or courier tasks

  • Must learn and be the primary Distribution Center contact for the Destiny Textbook Inventory System

  • Must learn all aspects of the LCPS Online Auction process and act as a backup to the Support Services Operations Specialist

  • Must learn all aspects of Distribution Center operations and act as backup to the DC Technician and DC Inventory Control Specialist when needed

  • Perform related duties as assigned
