Position Purpose:This job requires you have a MD C.N.A. - DT certification and either a BONENT OR CCHT Certification to be consideredJob Description Details:

General Summary:

Performs patient care duties delegated by registered nurse, related to patient personal needs, comfort and safety.  Renders nursing care and administers hemodialysis treatments to patients in renal failure, end stage or acute.  Supports medical care for patients with renal failure, as directed by medical staff and nephrologist.  Supports Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Minimum Licensure & Certification Required (if applicable):

1.  Certification as Certified Nursing Assistant - Dialysis Technician (CNA-DT) from Maryland Board of Nursing.

2.  Completion of Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT), Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing & Technology (BONENT), or other nationally recognized certification.

3.  Completion of BLS Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association within probationary period.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

1.  High school diploma or equivalent.

2.  One (1) year of experience as dialysis technician preferred.

3.  Successful completion of adult basic education evaluations for mathematics and reading.

4.  Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.

5.  Visual accuracy.

6.  Auditory acuity.

7.  Basic computer skills, to include data entry and retrieval.

8.  Ability to coordinate eyes and hands quickly and accurately.

9.  Ability to identify and distinguish color, temperature, texture, and size.

10.  Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, as determined by nature of patient care unit.

11.  Must be able to push, pull and lift patients and equipment (e.g. beds and stretchers).

12.  Must be able to bend body downward at waist and be able to kneel.
