In fulfillment of the Inspector General Act, the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Inspector General (OIG) provides auditing, investigative, and other services to support and assist the SBA in achieving its statutory mission. The OIG provides independent, objective oversight to improve the integrity, accountability, and performance of the SBA and its programs for the benefit of the American people. The OIG seeks to improve SBA programs by identifying key issues facing the Agency, recommending corrective actions, and promoting a high level of integrity.
This position is located in the Office of Counsel, Office of Inspector General. The primary purpose of this position is to provide legal, litigation and other support to the Counsel and attorney-advisors in the Counsel Division.

The Office of Personnel Management has identified the following basic education requirements for this position:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-950-07 which could have been gained working as a trainee or by performing similar related legal tasks; OR
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field such as Law, Paralegal Studies, or other appropriate legal programs or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
Combination of education and experience.Specialized Experience for this position is defined as: Providing legal, litigation and other support by pulling statutes, identifying cases and summarizing information; performing preliminary Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act (FOIA) analysis, drafting preliminary responses, and redacting and transmitting responses; completing a subpoena template and preparing preliminary draft subpoenas; assembling and arranging case files, documents and exhibits; coordinating law matters with internal and external stakeholders; or similar experience.
