Senior Financial Specialist (Banking Analyst), Grade 25

Salary Range: $62,195 - $103,177

Montgomery County Department of Finance is looking for a professional to perform a wide variety of cash management and banking related duties for the County and its component units in order to guarantee quality, cost-efficient bank products and services are delivered to and utilized by the County.  The primary focus of this position is to manage the County's banking relationships and perform advanced analysis and audits of the County's banking accounts, financial services, and act as a liaison to other County departments and agencies.  The individual will be considered the subject matter expert within the County as it pertains to bank products and services.  This position is also responsible for performing daily cash management and financial reporting and acting as a backup to the County's Investment Manager. 

The position schedules and manages monthly meetings with bank and financial services providers. Individual will be required to manage relationships for the merchant card services program and banking services to include:  establishing new bank and card accounts, account maintenance, troubleshooting, research, and acting as an online reporting administrator.  This position will also implement treasury management services such as lockbox and disbursement services for County entities; will work with online bank reporting tools to create and manage daily cash position: and will be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. 


Experience: Considerable (four (4) years) professional experience in a financial accounting, auditing or business administration field.

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in business or public administration with a major in accounting, or a related field with a major in accounting; or graduation from a recognized school of accounting.

Equivalency:  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
