Our client, The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) promotes the entire continuum of quality cancer care for our patients and our communities.
ACCC is seeking a Writer/Editor to assist with the development of a variety of professional print and digital publications, with emphasis on substantive editing and rewriting for a variety of platforms. The Writer/Editor creates, and manages social media content, contributes to the creative process and editing of the entire spectrum of client communications including websites, emails, enewsletters, brochures, flyers, and deliverables for client projects.
S/he will be responsible for editing and rewriting content for client publications and websites. Analyzing translate data into readable prose. The Writer/Editor will write departmental articles for the bi-monthly journal and write a variety of communication and marketing pieces for clients. S/he will provide liaison with authors and assist with print and electronic deliverables for client projects, as needed. Engage and participate in brainstorming for new products development and marketing. Copyedit and proofread a variety of communication deliverables. Create and manage social media across multiple platforms. Actively participate in assigned CORE Group. Provide assistance and support for other CMI activities, staff, and clients to maintain an informed, efficient and timely workflow. The Writer/Editor will report to the Senior Manager, Publications and Content.
A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or English is required. A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in medical and health writing. Two years of experience in editing, copyediting, proofreading, and social media outreach. One year of experience in project management. Familiarity with Chicago style and proofreader marks. Familiarity with HootSuite, WordPress, LinkedIn, and CMS systems preferred. Excellent organization and editing and writing skills are essential because of the number of simultaneous projects and competing deadlines. Most projects require frequent contact with healthcare professionals. Ability to work well with multiple staff, clients, and vendors to meet deadlines, to handle a diverse workload, and to produce high-quality materials. Must be accurate and attentive to detail. Communicates effectively with physicians, healthcare professionals, and vendors. Demonstrates creative abilities and uses initiative to make appropriate suggestions. The ideal candidate will be team oriented and able to work independently. Some travel is required to attend meetings.
