Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, Va., is a 250-bed Magnet facility featuring all patient-friendly private rooms and specializing in orthopedic, gynecological and urological services.

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Educator for Surgical Services. The person in this role is responsible for overseeing educational needs and staff development for all Perioperative Services (Operating, Pre-op, PACU, and Endoscopy) and communicating pertinent information to staff as needed.

Assumes operational responsibility for the development of patient and staff education within designated center(s) population(s). Promotes the application of nursing clinical expertise in a specified patient population. Accountable for defined aspects of staff development, continuing education and professional development of all nursing staff to improve quality and patient safety. Supports system and hospital projects and initiatives. Functions as an educator, facilitator, change agent, consultant, researcher, and leader.

RN-Bachelor's Level Degree

Experience
Required: Clinical - 3 years
