Join the team! This position is located in the Office of Communications (CM). CM is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive national information and public affairs program designed to promote product safety. This includes responsibility for developing and maintaining relations with a wide range of national groups such as consumer organizations, business groups, trade associations, state and local government associations, labor organizations, medical, legal, scientific and other professional associations, national print and broadcast media and other Federal health, safety and consumer agencies.

Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: ability to analyze facts to identify needed information; gather pertinent facts and materials; recognize problems; organize information; resolve procedural problems; work with media products and independently compile routine reports, manage day-to-day administrative operations for an office of professionals, make travel arrangements for employees and have computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and others in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Applicants must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal government.
