Sr Systems Administrator - Ft Belvoir, VA - TS/SCI
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
Sets up administrator and service accounts.
Maintains system documentation
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software; coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
May program in an administrative language.
Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Certification or working knowledge of Host Based Security System (HBSS) is a plus.
Knowledge of Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) (system scanning tool) is a plus.
Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) is required for security compliance.
Knowledge Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) for scanning the systems for vulnerabilities.
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in systems administration and support.
Comprehensive knowledge of related hardware and software.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
Must have a current Unix Solaris 10 certification.
Position also requires a current Security+ ce to meet the baseline requirements for 8570.01M.
Additional certifications are a plus: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Systems Associate (MSCA), or Virtual Machine (VM) Ware (ESX 5.0 or ESXi 5.1) and other Operating Systems, technologies and Platforms, as required.
Senior level expertise in Unix Server Administration to include a working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat Enterprise distribution), Solaris platforms, and Windows Server Administration (2012R2).
Senior level expertise configuring server hardware and OS software, as well as installing new software systems analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and documentation expertise.
Experience in developing system documentation and process documentation using Microsoft Office products, to include MS Project and Visio.
