Linux Network Administrator (NHR-36-2016)
We have an immediate opening for a Network Administrator to support classified and unclassified networks at NAS Patuxent River.
Responsibilities: Maintaining the Linux portion of multi-platform classified and unclassified networks and stand-alone machines running Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Supporting over 70 workstations and 3+ servers; assisting with network design, server configurations, server virtualization via VMWare, various enterprise applications and data storage centers, SANs; performing back-ups and desktop support; maintaining documentation of server and back-up procedures; downloading and installing software patches using the Red Hat Satellite Network; and performing network scans using the DoD ACAS suite to detect and mitigate security vulnerabilities in accordance with DOD IT security accreditation requirements.
Qualifications: Five to ten years of system administration experience in a Red Hat Linux environment is required. Security+ Certification is also required. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of RHEL. Experience with Data Storage Centers, Server Virtualization and VMWare is preferred. The candidate must be able to interface with a wide customer base using strong communication skills and be able to communicate issues to the Network Team. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
