Senior Analyst (Data Analysis)
This position is located in the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Strategic Issues (SI) Team. The SI team focuses on the federal government's role in achieving national goals in an increasingly networked environment and its ability to deliver, and ensure accountability for, meaningful results. This primary purpose of the position is to serve as a data analyst working within SI, and with other GAO teams to perform a range of analyst duties in response to requests from congressional committees, subcommittees and those mandated by public laws and committee reports related to cross cutting issues such as budget, human capital, intergovernmenal relations and tax policies.

Applicants must meet the one year specialized experience requirement by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band/level, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, Private or Public Sector to qualify for this position. Specialized experience for this position is is defined as: demonstrated experience using data analysis software applications, such as SAS, to create, manage, and analyze large complex data files; applying data analysis concepts and practices to conduct the data collection, analysis and reporting; providing advice and guidance on data reliability or quality; and demonstrated experience documenting analyses and interpreting results.
Additionally, this position requires strong analytical, writing, and oral communication skills, with customer-service orientation and the ability to build and sustain productive working relationships.
