JOB SUMMARY:

About the Agency

The position is located in the Office of Block Grant Assistance, Financial Management Division, part of Community Planning and Development (CPD). CPD seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations.

    For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    • Supporting a community development or economic development program at the federal, state, or local government or at a lending institution or non-profit organization; AND
    • Reviewing, and giving feedback on program or organizational policies and procedures; AND
    • Assisting with monitoring community or economic development activities.
    OR
    Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M.; if related.
    OR
    You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

    For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    • Supporting a community development or economic development program at the federal, state, or local government or at a lending institution or non-profit organization; AND
    • Applying program or organizational policies and procedures; AND
    • Tracking data on programs or special project outcomes to ensure that program requirements and goals are met.
    OR
    A Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D.; if related.
    OR

    You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

    The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
