The overall goal is to provide expertise and training to Army units on the Korea Theater of Operations as well as efficient and effective utilization of the IED Defeat Operations, Land Navigation and Gunnery Tables. The position integrates gaming software based applications into training at the crawl to walk stage which allows teams, creas, squads and platoons to rehearse and validate their unit SOPs prior to live training. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: OC-T BasicResponsible for analyzing a unit's performance during gaming training and gaming environment exercises through every phase of each mission. OC/T is responsible for providing subject matter expertise involving doctrine, TTP, tactical planning on Korea Theater of Operations (KTO), individual soldier skills/tasks, unit gunnery tables, SOP validation and IED Defeat operations. The OC/T provides in-depth advice, counsel, and assistance to exercise unit operations personnel before, during and after gaming exercises. In addition he provides in-depth assessments, oral and written, of unit performance. He provides feedback to the unit unsing the After Action Review process at the completion of the exercise. OC/T will coach, mentor, and teach unit skills and tasks using current doctrine, techniques and procedures to ensure units are combat ready. The OC/T will be responsibile for gathering, developing, organizing and disseminating information on current enemy and friendly trends, TTPs and operations. He will also interface with members of all Observer-Controller teams regarding training of the units, development of rotation scripts, and execution of scripts during rotations, pre-rotational briefings, and after-action meetings and reports. C-IED-D lane SpecificDuties include developing and implement rotational unit training in a gaming environment in order to provide deploying units to effectively employ counter-IED solutions, assist deployed forces in analysis of counter-IED operations, and proactively assist in identifying and addressing counter-IED capability gaps. The OC/T prepares, updates and teaches Improvised Explosive Devices Defeat (IED-D), and the preparation of lesson plans and POIs as required. OC/T during each rotation will coordinate scripting for IED networks, various types of intelligence that are used in the training lane.Game/SIM SpecificThe OC/T will use a game based software application to train units preparing for combat operations. The OC/T will develop scenarios with the gaming software applications and must be capable of modifying existing scenarios for unit identified training objectives. The OC/T will use the tools of the game based software application for the AAR process and scenario development.The OC/T must be familiar with game based software applications and their use in training.The OC/T must be familiar with providing desktop support and workstation administration in a networked environment. An understanding of setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting computer networks is a must.Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities are critical as well as a strong desire to continually research and learn emerging Gaming technologies and procedures. Education GDIT Requires: Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience. Contract Requires: Bachelors in Engineering, Science or Mathematics. Complete understanding and wide application of technical theories, and concepts in the field. Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Qualifications GDIT Requires: 5-8 years of directly related experience in the development and delivery of technical training programs.Contract Requires: 4 years of directly related experience in the development and delivery of technical training programs. Unique/Additional Requirements The most qualified candidate for this position is a former Army / Marine Corps ground combat company grade officer or senior noncommissioned officer that has a seasoned practical working knowledge of counter IED and IED Defeat organization and doctrine as well as an understanding of the Pacific Theater of Operations. A working knowledge of counterinsurgency operations and doctrine is desired. Combat Training Center and / or combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan are preferred but not required. Working knowledge of Gaming software applications is desired. Familiarity with training aids, devices, simulators and simulations are desired. This position requires excellent Microsoft Office and communication skills and the ability to teach military personnel and or brief senior military and civilian officials.Highly Desired:- VBS2/3 Experience or VBS2/3 Admin Course Certificate- Experience in creating 3D models and terrain for use in a Gaming environment.- Experienced with creating and participating in large-scale multi-system integrated training events (LVCG-ITE).- Advanced gaming scripting and/or programing experience- Computer related degree (i.e. Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Computer Information Systems, etc.)- Thorough understanding of the USFK Operational Area- Fundamental understanding of GIS software and techniquesCandidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance.
