Human Resource Assistant
Summary: General Dynamics Information Technology is currently looking for a Human Resource Assistant in Lawrence, KS! This candidate will support the Health and Civilian Solution Division HR Services Staffing Team, performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks on the phone, via email and web chat in support of the recruitment process during the 2017 Ramp season. This is a Full Time temporary position that is expected to last approximately two months (July 2017 – August 2017). Overtime and weekend hours may be required based on business needs in this position.
- Processes, manages and updates all Background check actions using our applicant tracking system.Responsible for initiating and monitoring background checks and adhering to a tight schedule for processing candidates.Professional communication and conduct especially when speaking to candidates about sensitive matters.Ensures all pre-employment paperwork is completed before submitting record for onboarding.As needed, coordinates candidate follow-up actions with the local HR and Recruiting staff.Maintains a positive, respectful, and caring attitude with all candidates.Maintains and updates Excel spreadsheets on SharePoint site.Participates in audits to ensure accuracy and quality of work.Maintains a high degree of accuracy and organization to minimize errors.Assists Teammates with their workloads and acts as a team player.Ability to prioritize workloads.Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.Willingness to learn.Ability to pick up new technologies and processes quickly.Adapts to a changing environment.Performs clerical tasks such as copying, faxing, filing, word processing, and data entry.Attends team meetings to share progress.Consistent Attendance and punctuality required.Other duties as assigned.
- Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of related Human Resources and administrative experience.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)Ability to handle heavy volume of background checks.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Strong organizational skills.Strong attention to detail.Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative to get things done.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse work groups.Experience handling confidential information.
