The Training Support Staff Member will be assigned to and will work on-site at the Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE) in Port Hueneme, CA. The staff member will be responsible to the Training Support Staff Supervisor and CSFE Training Division Director (N7), or designated representative, for individual effort in development and maintenance of assigned curricula training and testing materials, and ensuring that schedules and standards are achieved.


Extensive use of military training and authoring programs and systems is required in the performance of daily duties, to include access to Government information systems such as NMCI.


Performs a variety of general administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operations of an office, group or customer.

 1. Performs a variety of general administrative tasks, such as preparing reports and correspondence, answering phones, filing, and sorting and distributing mail, in support of the day-to-day operations of an office, group or customer.

 2. Compiles various contract, program, and financial data using various database programs, and prepares monthly status reports based on the results.

 3. Collects and inputs timesheet information into automated accounting system and processes labor corrections.

 4. Processes purchasing requisitions, invoices for consultants and subcontractors, and travel and expense reports.

 5. Serves as point of contact for the office or group on issues related to accounting, human resources, purchasing, and other departments, as well as outside contacts such as customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

 6. Participates in special projects as required.

Education 1. Requires a High School Diploma or GED.

 2. Associates Degree preferred.


3. Professional military education (PME) as a Navy Yeoman, Personnelman, or other similar military MOS or civilian equivalent, is desired.

Qualifications 1-3 years of related administrative experience.

The Training Support Staff Member shall be proficient in using the full Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio) to edit and format training course materials, write, organize, and track correspondence, schedule day-to-day meetings, and to complete various special projects and other assignments as tasked. Must be highly proficient in the grammatical rules of the English language and have working knowledge of the Naval Correspondence Manual. Must be competent in use of Adobe Acrobat for training and document development and management.


Shall possess three (3) years’ experience in computer operations for data processing and retrieving information from the Internet to include opening and sorting mail, using copy machine(s) and proofreading of educational material.


Recent experience and competency in two (2) of the following three (3) programs/systems is required: 1) Authoring Instructional Material (AIM II), 2) Content Planning Module (CPM) / AIM Learning Object (LO) Module, 3) CeTARS. Having a strong knowledge of the NAVEDTRA 130 through 138 (series) is highly desired.          


A background in Naval Construction Force (NCF) training methods, and a knowledge of the seven (7) Seabee rates, Civil Engineer Corps (CEC), or equivalent civilian construction fields, is highly desired.


Excellent written communication skills are a requirement of employment. Candidate must be a US citizen with a qualifying background investigation (NACLC Tier 2 or higher) within the last 10 years to meet eligibility requirements for an IT Level II Common Access Card (CAC).
