Thea Bowman House provides substance abuse and mental health treatment for up to 14 homeless and low-income mothers, each with one or two children 10 years old or younger. The program also accepts pregnant women.
Position Description: Provides medical/nursing care to residents of the Thea Bowman House and promotes health and wellness.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 7:00am- 12:00pm
Required: A Nursing license as certified by the District of Columbia Department of Health; CPR/First Aid, CPR for Infants, AED, and a Driver’s License. An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 2+ years of experience in Primary Care, Acute Care or Ambulatory Clinic.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of clinical care and nursing.
- Understanding of health education and wellness issues.
- Knowledge of electronic health records and documenting medical care.
- Ability to collaborate across an interdisciplinary team for continuity care.
