SOA Technical Architect
The SOA Technical Architect will be responsible for the creation and development of an implementation strategy that will enable the development and creation for the design of applications optimizing a framework for a highly complex banking environment. They must present highly technical and Innovative skills while being technically savvy, to promote performance, scaleability and ease of support, which must also be secure while creating business value and flexibility. Ultimately deploying flexibility into all aspects of business technology, enabling the business to partner, merge and rapidly expand without being encumbered by system limits.
The SOA architect also leads in the technical development of SOA solutions, by translating the business needs into technical service components. They identify gaps, strategic impacts, financial impacts and the risk profile in any the technical solution or offering. They will participate in complex long-term focused projects, involving multiple disciplines and/or business units. They will be required to provide leadership and direction to high priority or special projects undertaken by the business. They will recommend to IT management appropriate technological alternatives while directing teams in the rapid design, development, testing and deployment of micro services and APIs, for consumption across multiple channels and platforms.
The incumbent will focus on providing solutions that result in high performance, highly resilient and scalable solutions, that are reusable and secure. Attention will also focus on minimizing service interruptions, and therefore will also be required to work with vendors and other services providers to enforce service-level agreements, data availability and physical location, while retaining intellectual-property rights. They will be involved in the negotiation, relationship management, tracking, troubleshooting and reporting of all technology related contract commitments made within the information services and various other departments. Track and monitor services interactions to ensure compliance to negotiated contracts and contributes to systems monitoring/reporting as required by enterprise systems.Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. As an SOA Enterprise Architect, the incumbent will help craft specific solutions that leverage SOA to drive efficiency across multiple platforms and channels. Hands-on SOA transformation and banking technology experience are critical in this role:
Works directly with Agile development groups to design and oversee the implementation of high performing, highly scalable and reuseable services
Proficient in the development of services applications using open standards, networks, system monitoring and security skills.
Coordinates with multiple delivery teams and managers to ensure that required services are delivered.
Conducts cost/benefit analysis to determine the feasibility of various design approaches.
Defines and approves standards and specifications.
Works with third party vendors to seamlessly integrate their software into the Penfed enviroinment.
Provides leadership and mentoring to all members of the services team.
Must be able to work multiple projects concurrently and shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and deadlines.
Assists in the reviews problems and proactively escalates issues for resolution while understanding the major impacts to technical and business-related areas. Provides recommendations and solutions that can be quickly implemented to correct the problem.
Works closely with IT technical staff to ensure changes are implemented according to required business and IT technical specifications.
Continues to enhance technical knowledge and capabilities to develop a comprehensive understanding of the services and cloud environment.
Oversees and maintains documentation associated with the services environment and business process systems.
Provides guidance and training within the services team.
Ensures IT, Change Control and operational procedures are followed for all production-related changes.
This position will directly supervise employees.
