Job Type: Full-Time Location: 1100 N. Glebe Road, Suite 1500, Arlington *METRO-accessible*, Virginia       The Salesforce Administrator within Arlington Economic Development (AED) is a highly visible opportunity within the Business Investment Group (BIG) which is a fast-paced, future-oriented  team focused on strategically marketing Arlington County as a business location. The role offers an opportunity to be part of a talented group of professionals working in the areas of business attraction, retention, and small business assistance. This employee will develop an in-depth understanding of BIG's business processes, needs and designs and will implement Salesforce solutions to help target specific industries, generate and convert leads, market Arlington County, and track and measure economic development programs and policies. This employee will also coordinate Salesforce for all divisions of AED including: BIG, Arlington Convention and Visitors Service, and Arlington Cultural Affairs.

Duties include:
  • Managing the Salesforce application and supporting and training new end users;
  • Maintaining multiple user roles, security, profiles, workflow rules, etc.;
  • Troubleshooting issues, providing strategic and technical guidance, managing external consultants, organizing division power users, and implementing new department-wide processes;
  • Analyzing business priorities and processes and implementing system enhancements, including creating custom objects, reports, workflows, email alerts, templates and campaigns;
  • Collecting, segmenting and analyzing business intelligence data;
  • Participating in cross-functional teams that address strategic business issues involving CRM, data management, and marketing;
  • Providing data-backed analytics to business development managers and other stakeholders regularly and on an ad hoc basis;
  • Developing and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on measures, data integrity, utilization and performance metrics; and
  • Developing and implementing  dashboards and reports on outcomes for the BIG unit to provide to AED management.

The ideal candidate will have proven ability to lead Salesforce implementation efforts and contribute technical expertise inside a business development oriented group; the candidate will have expertise in data integration and data management methods and tools; experience working with reporting and data visualization tools; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and the ability to work across teams and collaborate with a diverse range of people.
 Selection Criteria: Minimum: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Web Development, Real Estate Development, or other closely related field plus professional work experience in developing or implementing Salesforce or another Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, for a sales and/or marketing team.

Substitution: Additional qualifying experience can be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • A Master's or higher level degree in a related field;
  • Significant project management experience;
  • Direct experience managing daily operations of business development functions;
  • Direct experience in economic development and or real estate;
  • Proficiency in creating custom objects, validation rules, workflows, triggers, reporting, dashboards, formula fields and assignment rules;
  • Salesforce certification;
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ Exact Target;
  • Experience with web-to-lead functionality; and/or
  • Public speaking/presentation experience.

 Special Requirements: Work Hours from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
