Urban, Ltd., an established Land Development Civil Engineering firm located in the Northern Virginia, is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Survey Department in our Annandale location. Urban, Ltd. has positions available in our Survey department for three separate positions, which include; Land Survey Project Manager, Survey Technician, and a Plat Project Manager.

Land Survey Project Manager

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing survey and mapping projects.
  • Compiling and drafting ALTA surveys.
  • Preparation of topographic and existing conditions surveys.
  • Reducing and analyzing field data.
  • Reviewing title reports
  • Preparation of topographic and existing conditions surveys.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with GIS.
  • Knowledge of and experience with aerial drones
  • Knowledge and experience with 3D scanners
  • District of Columbia survey license
  • State of Maryland survey license

Survey Technician

Responsibilities will include:

  • Reducing and analyzing field data.
  • Reading plans and performing quality control checks.
  • Preparing construction stakeout computations for utilities roadways and buildings.
  • Preparation of cut sheets and stakeout maps.
  • Preparation of topographic and as-built surveys.

Plat Project Manager

Responsibilities will include:

  • Plat preparation.
  • Coordinating with design professionals.
  • Coordinating with clients and attorneys.
  • Coordinating with various jurisdictions.
  • Processing plats through recordation.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • District of Columbia survey license
  • State of Maryland survey license
  • Knowledge of and experience with GIS.
