GDIT is seekinga Research Logistics Specialist ito support the Malaria Vaccine Branch (MVB) by facilitating procurement, shipment, and tracking of research-related materials. Specifically, the contractor shall:Schedule meetings, teleconferences, and communications with key vendors when required to support ongoing research;Prepare routine correspondence to vendors, in the form of memorandums and business letters following Army Regulation No. 25-50, when required to support ongoing research;Maintain Laboratory Notebook inventory for the division;Maintain freezer logs for the division;Act as POC for shipment and receipt of research-related materials; Branch liaison with WRAIR logistics;Facilitate the entry of manuscripts and abstracts into the WRAIR approval process or system. Additionally the contractor shall facilitate external submission when required;Support the ARIMS filing system for the division;Prepare travel orders manually and in the Defense Travel System (DTS) for civilian and military personnel;Navigate and facilitate the proper ID and clearance procedures for visitors to the division and escort visitors to the WRAIR as required;Facilitate the in-processing new civilian employees and contractors supporting this task order to the Malaria Vaccine Branch as well as renewal of privileges for existing staff supporting this task order; andSupport a safe workplace ensuring awareness of and observing appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations. The contractor is required to attend safety training relative to efforts in this task and report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer.
B.S. in Business or Management.
0-2 years of related experience in logistics, traffic and/or supply chain management.
Knowledge of business management or administration skills with in-depth knowledge of logistics infrastructure. Familiar with tracking, ordering, and filing systems.
