A non-profit organization is currently seeking a Program Director who will be responsible for the implementation and management of a robust Senior Program through program planning, monitoring, evaluating and improving service components. The incumbent will also oversee the administration of the facility and program staff. He/she will develop and implement long and short range goals and objectives; clearly defining program objectives/plans and operational work systems, developing program policy and implementation of program plans; prepare various proposals to obtain funding for various services and programs under the incumbent's supervision and control; develop and manage the budget; prepare mandated monthly and quarterly reports and participate in a variety of community forums, workshops, seminars and meeting s in order to keep abreast of activities in the community; inform the community about services being provided to elderly concerning wellness; develop liaisons within the aging service network and advocate for senior citizens.
Five to seven years related professional experience is required; this should include the management of a program, project or work unit; developing, implementing and administering programs and/or services for a defined group. Previous supervision is also required. Demonstrated experience in advocating for community-based services, with emphasis on promoting wellness pertaining to the minority elderly is desired. Bachelor’s degree (B.S. Degree) in related field required; Advanced degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate required; if not certified at hire, CPR certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
