A non-profit organization is currently seeking a part-time Fitness Manager who will be responsible for the implementation of the physical fitness program of a robust Seniors Program. The Fitness Manager will also assist with the coordination of other program activities. The incumbent will plan and prescribe exercise programs for the individual seniors based on their physiological status and ability level; conduct physical fitness assessments on all participants and assigns participants according to exercise level and space availability; instructs participants’ use of all fitness equipment; monitors and records all participants’ progress and provide monthly reports of fitness activity and other reports as requested; prepare fitness flyers to communicate with Seniors; and assists with the planning and coordination of related activities in the Core Curriculum, Health Promotion, Medication Management Program and other program events and activities as assigned.
Minimum of three years experience with planning and implementing fitness programs required; experience working with the senior population in a service capacity desired; Associate’s Degree (AA) preferred; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Certificate/License for Fitness Instructor in all fitness disciplines and related modalities required; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate required (if not certified at hire, CPR certificate must be obtained within six months of hire. Must possess a working and demonstrated knowledge of fitness standards and activities, preferably as they relate to the senior population; must be proficient in basic MS Office programs including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer; and data entry in various database programs.
