Manager of Concessions
The manager of concessions, supervises and coordinates concessions staff for all arts-related events occurring days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. He/she ensures a high degree of customer service demonstrating patience and professionalism. The manager demonstrates an understanding of concessions as part of Retail Operations and sets an example of how good working relationships lead to a smoothly run department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
25% Supervises, coordinates, and informs the Retail Operations assistant manager and sales associates assigned to concessions of actions and schedules.
20% Ensures adequate merchandise and candy inventory levels in all appropriate venues. Orders and inventories candy
15% Maintains contact with theater managers to assure timely coordination of merchandise. Meets with guest artists/agents to ascertain, verify and count pass-through merchandise; prepares appropriate paperwork.
15% Supervises candy cart building and maintenance, and works with members of the Retail Operations team to create special event merchandise carts.
15% Develops and maintains calendar of events; completes or supervises all paperwork completion for these events including contract follow-through.
10% Develops staff through training and education to assist him/her in crucial areas during busy times
College BA or BS, retail experience, familiarity with the Performing Arts
Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required:
- Supervisory, training & hiring experience; handle money with accuracy.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
