A Rockville insurance group is expanding and we are seeking a Staff Accountant to join us! Located in a beautiful new office in Rockville Town Center, this high contributing position reports to the Vice President of Finance and will be responsible for various aspects of accounting for The Trust Companies.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for general accounting activities with direct responsibility for maintaining G/L accounts, administering billing and collections, cash accounting and bank reconciliation. This position is responsible for daily import of lockbox and credit card charge backs, issuance of refunds and resolution to payment discrepancies. Will also produce a variety of accounting and financial reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
BS/BBA in Business Management, Finance or Accounting
1-3 years of general accounting experience in an accounting environment
Knowledge of operational accounting processes, G/L structure and project level accounting
Demonstrable advanced Excel and spreadsheet capabilities
Lockbox experience preferred
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Flexible, well organized, able to work under tight deadlines
Superior communication skills with ability to work independently and as a team
