General Dynamics is immediately seeking and hiring a Mk-160 Mod 4/6 Gun Fire Control Trainer to provide classroom and laboratory instruction at the Center for Surface Combat Systems in Virginia Beach. The ideal candidate would have NEC 1120 (Mk-160 Mod 4/6 GFCS) and NEC 9502 (Navy Instructor) with technical and operational service on DDG-51 class ships.

  1. Develops, organizes, and conducts classroom training on MK-160 Mod 4/6 GFCS.
  2. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
  3. Maintains records of training activities, student progress, and program effectiveness.
  4. Updates course documentation on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.
  5. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  6. Participates in special projects as required.
  7. Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for customer personnel.
  8. Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers moderately complex training programs and related materials in support of customer training objectives.
  9. Conducts research into new training, educational, and multimedia technologies.
  10. Supports other CSCS Courses as needed.
Education Bachelors Degree (Arts or Sciences) in a related technical discipline (Desired not Required) ; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work/military experience totaling at least 3 years of experience and training.

Qualifications GDIT Requirement:

2-5 years of directly related experience in the development and delivery of technical training programs.

 

Contract Requirement:

 

1. Three (3) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.

  2. One (1) years of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment; to include curriculum maintenance; writing learning objectives; preparing test items; evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.

  3. CSTT technical or tactical qualification and experience desired.

   Past experience as trainer/instructor in support of CSCS/ATRC/TACTRAGRU is a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Travel may be up required to 10% of time. Must be fit enough to embark ship for 5-10 days.
