General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for a Associate Systems/Software Engineer to serve on the service desk modernization team in a mission centric 24x7 enterprise operations & data center(s) infrastructure. Candidate will support a wide variety of classified and unclassified networks dispersed over multiple geographic regions. The candidate will be responsible for responsible for configuring the service area systems for new or existing enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. The candidate will perform the following duties:

 

Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.

  1. Assists in the design and coding of software product components, units, and modules according to detailed specifications.

 2. Participates in the design, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or enhancing existing software.

 3. Participates in the analysis and development of test plans.

 4. Analyzes test results and recommends corrections to more experienced software engineers.

 5. Participates in the writing and updating of technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.

 6. Participates in systems modeling, simulation and analysis.

 7. Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for software operating system and application issues.

 8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

 9. Participates in special projects as assigned.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current TS/SCI polygraph clearance
  • 0-2 years of related software development experience.
  • Support the various work schedules/shifts in a 24x7 Operations Center

  • Prior work on large, geographically disperse networksKnowledge of ITIL service management processesBasic knowledge of software engineering principles, methods, and techniques. Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.Knowledge of database administration and server virtualizationAbility to build PowerShell scripts to automate procedures Professional certification in one or more specific technologies is required such as, ITSM products, ITIL Foundations, Security+, etc.
