Job Description:

We are seeking a Coordinator based in Washington DC. The Coordinator is the key link between our Headquarters in Washington, DC and institutions sending students on our sponsored programs as well as with our field office staff members delivering programs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). You will be involved in all aspects of our education abroad programs, supervises the work of Program Assistant(s) and Program Officer(s), as well as serve as acting director in the absence of the director. The incumbent’s responsibilities will include the following,

Responsibilities:             

  • You will coordinate with clients, partners, and field office staff from program development through implementation, monitoring, and final reporting for education abroad program
  • Manage the Education Abroad department budget, including participation in annual budgeting process, monitoring of expenses against budget, and development of program budgets for summer and semester programs
  • Assist the director with developing policies and procedures, and identifying best-practices for our Education Abroad Programs based on the standards of good practice in the field
  • Coordinate quality assurance monitoring and initiatives for our Education Abroad Programs, including, participation in the Forum on Education Abroad’s Quality Improvement Program (QUIP)
  • Train staff at HQ and in the field offices in the implementation of policies, procedures, and best-practices for program delivery
  • Supervise the implementation and operation of the our student portal (hosted by Terra Dotta) as well as deliver of all pre-departure orientations for departing students
  • Organize and strategize our programs presence at professional meetings such as NAFSA, the Forum on Education Abroad, and the Middle East Studies Association annual meeting
  • Perform other tasks as may be required from time to time

Qualifications: 

  • You have a Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional education abroad experience
  • Academic study, employment, or extensive and substantive travel abroad, preferably in the Middle East/North Africa
