The Ford Agency is actively seeking an Assistant Director of Communications to join a Bethesda-based pediatric healthcare non-profit. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in a healthcare-oriented non-profit and a strong command of creating and using strategic communications to further the mission of an organization. This is an opportunity to join a team of driven leaders who are committed to the non-profit goals of supporting underserved communities as they navigate the complexities of healthcare.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and manage communication strategy for the organization; including managing production of digital and printed materials, social media initiatives, and organizational branding
  • Serve as an ambassador and representative
  • Attend and speak at private fundraising events promoting the organization
  • Provide tours to interested donors
  • Supervise the communications team and serve as advisor to the Chief Development and Communications Officer
  • Serve as editor; overseeing and editing all communication channels to ensure consistency and clarity
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the communications department¬†

Qualifications Include:

  • Health related non-profit experience preferred
  • 8+ years of experience
  • MSOffice expertise and web content management experience desirable
  • Professional and diplomatic communication skills¬†
  • Bachelor's Degree required
