The opportunity:

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) is a fast-paced trade association in the City of Fairfax that needs to hire an experienced Finance Assistant.

Position requirements:

Education & Experience. A minimum of at least one year experience working in an accounting department and you have prepared general ledger account schedules and reconciliations, or completion of an Associate’s Degree (or equivalent college coursework) in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or equivalent is desirable.

Computers. Outstanding software skills including solid competency with Excel is mandatory. Experience with database systems is preferred. A knowledge of computerized accounting software (preferably Sage 100) is ideal.

Strong attention to detail. Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment is required. Problem solving skills in reconciling financial data discrepancies is a must.

Communications. You can communicate effectively in both written and verbal threads  You can also be trusted to keep sensitive privacy related information confidential.

Collaborative work-style. With a wide range of stakeholders to support, you possess a style that both complements the efforts & accommodates the needs of others.

Proactive and self-motivated. This is a key element of SGIA’s culture and is critical to your success. You think ahead, anticipate challenges, and take things from start to finish. You have a keen ability to determine what is working and what is not, and you act to move forward in the right direction.

General. You are dependable, have initiative, show attention to detail, and are a good team member.
