Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (JBM-HH) serves as the base support of operations for the Joint Force Headquarters-National Capitol Region and the U.S. Military District of Washington, Fort McNair, D.C. Fort Myer traces its origins to the Civil War and Fort McNair has been an Army post for more than 200 years. Henderson Hall provides barracks and support for Marines assigned to Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps as well as certain schools and agencies in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

LOCATION: Fort Myer Business Operations and Community Recreations

This is a Nonappropriated Fund Flexible (Flex) position that does not include NAF Benefits nor guaranteed hours. Incumbents may be scheduled to work 0-40 hours per administrative week. Incumbent will be required to work weekends and holidays. May be required to work before and after work. This position works in a large, multi-roomed special events facility on multiple levels; facility is a customer driven program and exceptional customer service is the norm. Many special events are catered throughout the facility that requires setting up and breaking down of event areas. Multiple vacancies may be filled from this announcement. Although there is a salary range on this announcement, most applicants will start at the minimum salary.

This position will be assigned to one of the following activities but may be required to move between them on a regular basis; Fort Myer All Ranks Clubs, Bowling Alley and Spates Community Club. The facilities do special events such as birthday parties, anniversaries, retirements, weddings, family and friend reunions, etc. Incumbents may be scheduled to work 0-40 hours per administrative week. The incumbent may be required to work during inclement weather, before and/or after scheduled work hours, Federal Holidays, special events and weekends, etc

  • Must have skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures and be able to concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions. A working knowledge of sanitation standards is required as well as knowledge of procedures to prevent contamination. Must know basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures. Must have the ability to read and understand written material. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals, such as counting the number of tables in order to determine the number of portions or meals required, or, how many servings a particular container will yield.

    Ability to understand and follow simple instructions, and be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines.

    Physical Effort: Light to heavy physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds. Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. May be required to work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment.
