NOVA Parks has a full-time opening for HVAC/ELECTRICIAN at Central Maintenance Facility, Fairfax Station, Virginia.  Annual Starting Salary: $40,995.93. Excellent Benefits Provided. 

The HVAC/ELECTRICIAN is responsible for maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning/refrigeration systems and equipment; and for installing, maintaining, and repairing electric power and lighting systems and related fixtures and equipment.  Work is performed under the general direction of the Central Maintenance Administrator. Annual performance goals will be set for the HVAC/Electrician.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Repair or replace damaged and/or faulty HVAC systems and equipment;
  • Repair or replace damaged and/or faulty electrical systems;
  • Install new electrical service and/or equipment;
  • Provide routine servicing of electrical equipment;
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and other systems;
  • Perform miscellaneous work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum)

Education:  Graduation from high school supplemented by completion of apprentice-level training.

Physical:  Manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in outdoor and indoor settings; will perform manual labor in all weather conditions; will lift and move items equal to or greater than 80 pounds; will climb ladders; will use tools and operate equipment.

Experience:  Journeyman status as electrician/HVAC specialist with a minimum of three years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
