Overview:The Advisory Architect position is for the individual who has acquired extensive software development and business experience, that will enable them to assume the most complex and demanding technical/leadership roles in an organization. They will combine an understanding of the business domain and competitive/technology landscape with the ability to design comprehensive solutions. The work of the Advisory Architect will contribute to and work within the Technology roadmap for the whole company in support of current business goals. Responsible for leading or managing project teams, work groups or employees in highly complex/significant work assignments and/or projects. The Advisory Architect role is A cents € oehands onA cents € and requires working closely with developers to design and implement/code simple effective solutions. Responsibilities include leading the design effort in a collaborative environment, evolving design over time, and serving as a leader and mentor. Sage is a leading supplier of business management software and services to more than 6 million customers worldwide, and weA cents € (TM) re building some of the most advanced cloud-based web and mobile business applications.Responsibilities: Responsible for cross-functional oversight for the development of new products and enhancements, and ensure best practices are being followed Drive continuous improvement in overall system architecture, including quality, performance, and effectiveness of the software development environment Perform complex systems analysis and design activities, spanning multiple features, products, or teams within a product line, including extensive research and proof-of-concept development Lead architectural assessment and evaluation pertaining to complete end-to-end solutions Provide mentoring and training to other team members on technologies and processes; drive education and knowledge transfer of design patterns, technical best practices, and relevant technologies and tools Serve as a domain expert and provide technical advice to other departments, potentially across multiple business units Lead programming staff in developing from requirements; may require direct involvement in development process Responsible for the development and evolution of technical and architectural roadmaps Perform evaluations of new technologies and third-party solutions and drive recommendation for some build versus buy decisions Evangelize Sage's technologies and architectures externally by attending and speaking at conferences (like Sage Summit), writing blogs, and speaking at user group meetings Effectively communicate, persuade and document architecture and technical design to various stakeholders and audiences Contribute to the capture and reuse of intellectual capital, technical documentation and architecture decisions Brings new knowledge or skills to the organization Protect company proprietary and confidential informationQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience required 12+ years of experience Experience with developing single page applicationsExperience with setting up environments either in AWS or AzureExperience with JavaScript based technologies such as Angular.JS, Node.JS and Express.JSExperience with continuous development and integration Experience in a true Agile / Scrum environment where Test Driven Development (TDD) and similar A cents € oetest firstA cents € techniques and methods are employed is highly desired Expert knowledge in modeling, design, coding, and analysis of software systems Expert in debugging strategies - not restricted to own project/domain Requires advanced wide-ranging and expert technical expertise and significant, broad based technical expertise in field Understanding multiple operating systems especially Linux and/or software delivery models and how they are put together Understand the dynamics and interrelationships between development, sales and marketing Ability to write detailed technical specifications for complex applications Can articulate the implication of critical systems requirements on system architecture and performance Able to perform risk assessment, incorporating domain knowledge and cross functional insight to anticipate likely obstacles and formulate the means to mitigate them Ability to make appropriate decisions regarding refactoring of architecture, identifying and promoting opportunities for reuse Technology depth in development frameworks and libraries Ability to lead or manage project teams, work groups or employees in highly complex/significant work assignments and or projects Able to articulate the strengths and weaknesses of suggestions or arguments proposed by others Able to recognize what is known, what is unknown, and what needs to be done to fill in the gap Able to recognize and balance the different needs of all relevant stakeholders Ability to negotiate effectively Must display strong technical and group leadership skills in a variety of different situations and settings Strong verbal and written communication skills Requires advanced wide-ranging and expert technical expertise, and significant, broad based technical expertise in field Ability to work in abstractions at design and code level Good decision making skills Ability to recognize gaps in design details and fill in to complete story Ability to quickly learn new concepts and gain expertise Ability to provide Sage values-based leadership with the passion to drive engagement through teams across organizations Positive in the work environment and clearly respectful of others Enables others to succeed Team player that can work on a cross-functional team Catalyst for positive change and helps others cope with change
