Job DescriptionBusiness Development Associates at Specialists on Call are goal-focused, quick on their feet, and have strong communication skills. They use their critical thinking and creativity to identify and initiate contact with prospective clients who can benefit from our products and services. When successful, they get to talk with executives across healthcare, and make a difference in the communities we serve.As an entry-level salaried sales position, the Business Development Associate will support an SVP of Sales and their team, and be responsible for day-to-day interactions with our prospective customers in the hospital/ health care industry. As a part of a larger team, you will play a major role in the SoCA cents € (TM) s business development efforts, from establishing initial contact with prospects to facilitating follow up activities that lead to new business opportunities.This position is located in Reston, VA and will report to the SVP of Sales, East.This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate of a sales/ marketing or similar major to use your sales acumen and develop an exciting career in healthcare sales and marketing.Primary responsibilities of this role include:Effectively communicating SOCs value proposition to decision makers regarding service linesInitating first contact with new business prospects through creative and effective outreachAccurately documenting all calls, emails and appointment activity in the SOC CRM databaseQualifying all inbound and outbound marketing leads, and transferring qualified leads to the appropriate Regional Sales leader Building and maintaining strong relationships with the sales team through clear communication and follow-upHandling all in-bound customer inquiries via live conversations in a timely mannerProviding activity tracking reports to Sales/Marketing leadersMeeting and exceeding productivity metricsRequirements Education Required2- or 4-year degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or other relevant course of studyPreferredCompletion of a Sales Certificate program or Certification ProgramDegree or Minor in Sales Participation in Collegiate Sales TeamExperienceOne year of experience in the workforce (may be cumulative rather than sequential) that includes at least two of these:Leadership experienceCustomer service experienceExperience working in a team environmentSales or fundraising experienceExperience in an office settingSkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for establishing initial contact with senior executivesProven experience managing multiple, competing priorities while working towards an established goalExperience with Microsoft Dynamics (or other CRM) and Microsoft Office suiteAbility to partner effectively with others, respond to rapid change, and perform duties with accuracy Demonstrated ability to learn basic clinical information required to present the SOC value proposition BenefitsBenefits Include: Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision)Health Savings AccountFlexible Spending (Medical and Dependent Care)Employer Paid Short and Long Term DisabilityEmployer Paid 1x Life and AD&D (Supplemental available)401(k) & Roth 401(k)Up-to 16 days of PTO10 Paid HolidaysPregnancy and Parental LeaveMilitary Leave PayCommuter Assistance
