Occupational /Physical Therapist - Specialist
Department 734, Outpatient Rehab Medicine Schedule Full Time Shift Days Hours 40 Job Details Under general supervision, delivers occupational therapy or physical therapy services through evaluation of patient needs, goal determination, and development of treatment plans in accordance with the evidenced based practice and Maryland scope of practice for general rehabilitation as well as areas of required specialization that may include. lymphedema management; pelvic floor therapy; oncology rehabilitation or hand therapy. Participates in mentoring of staff or students in the assessment and treatment of patients, documentation, and discharge preparation. Participates in program development or outcomes study projects Education Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution; successful completion of continuing education in required area of specialization Experience Three years of related work experience with an additional 2 or more years functioning in a area of specialty that may include lymphedema management, pelvic floor therapy, oncology rehabilitation or hand therapy Skills A' . Skill in oral and written communication A' . Skill in organization A' . Ability to set priorities A' . Ability to evaluate patient capabilities, develop treatment plans and monitor patient progress A' . Ability to manage an average caseload of 2 patients per hour A' . Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills Licensures, Certifications A' . Current Maryland license as an Occupational or Physical Therapist A' . National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy ( NBCOT) A' . Certification by a North American Lymphedema Association (NALEA) approved program in Lymphedema Management or A' . American Physical Therapy (APTA) certification in pelvic floor or comparable certification or A' . Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) A' . Manual Therapy Certification A' . Heart saver (CPR Certification). Physical Requirements Able to lift 30 pounds, able to walk and stand greater than 50 % of the time Working Conditions Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperatures and the like Conditions of Employment Current Maryland license as an Occupational or Physical Therapist Certification or eligibility by one or more of the certifications listed above. Current CPR certification.
