Job DescriptionAshley Addiction Treatment is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for its Intensive Outpatient Services. This position will be located in Bel Air, MD in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Ashley Outpatient Treatment Center will be providing Outpatient Treatment including intensive outpatient treatment and ambulatory detoxification services for a range of substance use disorders including dependence on alcohol, opiates and sedatives.The Nurse Practitioner will supervise the ambulatory detoxification, provide on-going assessment, monitor treatment progress, document interactions, and maintain clinical records and other reporting data. The Nurse Practitioner will coordinate treatment with the counselor, the physician, and external health care providers. This position works 9am - 6:30pm, however may require some flexibility for weekend hours based patient need. This position requires that you maintain on-call services for patient care.Essential Functions:1. Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories.2. Diagnose substance use disorders based on history.3. Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions.4. Supervise and/or manage ambulatory detoxification.5. Prescribe and/or administer medications for treatment of withdrawal states and anti-craving.6. Provide oversight and review of treatment plans.7. Participate in treatment team meetings.8. Educate patients about self-management of acute and/or chronic illnesses.9. Assist the nurse with toxicology screens, nursing assessments, vital signs and medication administration.10. Complete count of all the medication twice per day.11. Documenting all orders, patient interactions, medications provided or prescribed in Ashley Electronic Medical Record.12. Administering the medication to the patients and documenting in TIER per Medicaid requirements.13. Follow up with Detoxification patients every 30 minutes - unless completing an admission.14. Document in TIER all interactions with patients in the observation room - must include withdrawal symptoms15. Assist the program doctor with order entry, documentation, and other duties as assigned16. Other duties as assigned by site director or medical director. Minimum Qualifications:1. MasterA cents € (TM) s Degree in Nursing2. NP Certification3. Experience in Addictions Treatment4. Experience with buprenorphine and anti-craving medications a plus5.
