We are presently seeking an Senior Product Engineer with multidisciplinary engineering skills and management experience to assist the Chief Engineer in leading the design, development and support of measurement and inspection system technology products and projects. Responsibilities will include:Manage engineering requirements and schedules for project and product development.Coordinate engineering work with functional group managers for five functional engineering groups A cents € " Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software and Signal Processing Engineering.Coordinate with the Production group to successfully transfer new designs and changes into production.Review and approve project design documentation.Detailed problem solving and system analysis.Lead product improvement efforts. Qualifications Required (Skills) BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field, or equivalent.Minimum of 10 years of applicable product design and development engineering work experience including a minimum 3 years of engineering supervisory work experience.Solid knowledge of electrical and electronic real-time data acquisition systems including sensors, computers, and software.Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical systems and control systemsDetailed knowledge of engineering documentation control.Excellent problem solving skillsExcellent written and oral communications skillsAbility to climb a ladder 15 feet high to gain access to railway carsAbility and willingness to travel up to 20% of the timeRailway regulations require that the selected candidate must pass an e-RAILSAFE security background check and safety tests to work on railroad properties. Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eyewear) when working railroad properties is also a requirement. Employees may be subject to drug testing.
