Job DescriptionBackground:Office of the Chief, Army Reserve (OCAR) Private Public Partnership Office (P3O) has taken the lead in establishing beneficial relationships and alliances between Soldiers, units, government agencies, not-for-profit corporations, for profit corporations and academia, to enable Soldiers to increase their readiness through mission related training and employment opportunities. At the pinnacle of this effort rests the organizationA cents € (TM) s commitment to developing and managing an effective Soldier program that incorporates processes well beyond the Soldier transition practices, but ensures Reservists are offered the continuing-care programs they have earned.Position Description: The Engineering Strategic Subject Matter Expert will develop collaborative relationships with Engineering industries in the US that result in workforce development and training services, that match businesses with USAR job-seekers that have the skills they require, and helping them access other available services. Maintain active communication, interface and coordinate with employers to assist in their recruitment efforts by providing qualified Reserve Component Service members, family and spouse candidates. Determine like credentialing and training requirements with the USAR and industry. Ensure professional interaction and communication to the greatest extent among stakeholders with the overall goal of enhancing, improving and advancing future success of P3O. Job duties may include:Develop and maintain effective working relationships with engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, and construction counterparts.Maintain an active list of private sector partners, collaborators involved with the P3O.Serve as the contact person to whom private sector partners and collaborators within the industry can communicate to develop programs to support service members.Seek opportunities with private sector partners and collaborators that help promote Individual, Leader and Unit readiness Lines of Effort.Attend private sector partners and collaborators outreach meetings and events. Institute and promulgate P3OA cents € (TM) s initiatives during these outreach meetings and events.Assess and identify skill sets that match industry sectors. Identify workforce needs and develop strategies that will align these needs with the priorities and expectations of private sector partners and collaborators to meet their demands.Meet with private sector partners and collaborators to identify the workforce skill gaps; develop and implement solutions to address the identified gaps.Work with industry partners and collaborators to strategically develop and implement systemic changes that increase access to and support success of USAR program.Identify resources for internships, externships and apprenticeships, in order to provide better career- and experience-based opportunities to job seekers.Build training and certification programs that are mutually beneficial to the military and civilian workforces, while enhancing the skill sets of Soldiers.Qualifications: The minimum education and experience required to perform these services/tasks include a BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in Engineering or related field from a college or university that is accredited by a national or regional agency recognized by the US Department of Education. Minimum of five (5) years experience in engineering field or a related position as well as knowledge in customer service skills and demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the use of office equipment, Microsoft Office computer programs and web-based applications. Bachelor degree can be substituted for ten (10) years experience in engineering or a related position with a minimum of five (5) years in a senior role within the engineering field. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (NACI) security clearance required.Salary: $55,000 annually.
